The report identifies the diamond as laboratory-grown rather than natural. It may also state the growth method, such as CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) or HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature), alongside any post-growth treatment disclosed by the laboratory. These details give buyers a clear, third-party description of what they are purchasing.
A certificate does not make a diamond more beautiful by itself. Clarity records natural or growth-related internal features and surface characteristics. Next, look beyond the headline grade. Review the diamond's proportions and any comments on the report, then inspect clear imagery or video under normal lighting. A certificate is essential, but it cannot show every visual characteristic. It will not tell you how an oval's bow-tie appears, whether an emerald cut has pleasing flashes of light, or how a particular stone looks beside a chosen setting.
Fluorescence is less commonly a central concern with lab-grown diamonds than it is with natural stones, but the report should still be read in full.
